SparkSTEM Discovery Day

The CREATE STEM Learning Network organized an innovative one-day career event designed to provide students with immersive, hands-on industry experiences that connect classroom learning to real-world careers. This initiative addresses common challenges in traditional career exploration, such as transportation limitations and brief school-day industry visits, by offering extended activities that allow students to directly engage with local industry professionals and experience the skills and technologies shaping today’s workforce.

A core component of the event is ensuring that businesses and industries take the lead in designing interactive experiences, allowing students to explore STEM-related careers in meaningful and engaging ways. The event will also include parent engagement sessions, equipping families with the knowledge to support their children’s STEM career pathways through workshops and panel discussions on emerging career opportunities.

All students will have the opportunity to participate, ensuring an inclusive and equitable experience. By integrating classroom learning with hands-on industry engagement, the event aims to spark curiosity, build career awareness, and help students envision themselves in STEM fields.

More than just a career day, this initiative strengthens the connection between education and workforce readiness by exposing students to high-demand STEM careers. Through authentic industry interactions, students will gain valuable insight into essential skills and career pathways.

By fostering strong partnerships among educators, businesses, and community organizations, the CREATE STEM Learning Network is building a sustainable model for STEM career exploration and preparing students for future workforce opportunities.
